Passionate about attracting and providing opportunities for the best insurance industry talent, JMG
Group has created the JMG Drive Programme to provide a structured pathway for people at the start
of their careers. In partnership with Wiser Academy, a leading insurance training provider, the
programme combines hands-on experience with the opportunity to gain professional qualifications.
The first cohort of eight apprentices will be based with JMG Group businesses across the UK,
including Premier Insurance, JM Glendinning, Howe Maxted, JMG Midlands and Gleaming Insurance.
Over the next 15 months they will gain experience in live working environments, mentored by
colleagues, while studying to achieve Cert CII qualifications in an educational setting.
JMG Drive Programme provides a clear progression plan with five defined stages which will help
build communication, teamwork and time management skills. The stages cover initial integration
through to understanding the industry, gaining practical experience and applying learning in real-life
scenarios, through to in-depth technical training and qualifications. Apprentices will also benefit
from attending industry events and experiences, gaining memberships and exposure to the broad
world of insurance.
Nick Houghton, JMG Group CEO, says: “This is the start of an exciting group-wide initiative which
invests in people, in the future of our business and the wider industry. Through the programme we
want to show that the industry is diverse and dynamic, with opportunities for everyone. It’s been
carefully designed to give a solid foundation, helping to develop individuals both personally and
professionally, setting our apprentices up for a successful and rewarding career. I can’t wait to see
how they develop with our support.”
JMG Drive Programme was officially launched on 24 October with all colleagues attending an
induction day at JMG Group’s Guiseley headquarters. It will recruit annually through the company’s
educational connections and will also invite direct applications.
