Established in 1987, when it was only the second children’s hospice in the UK, Martin House has gone on to play a leading role in the development and delivery of children’s hospice care. The charity works to help children and young people with a life-limiting condition, along with their families, to live well and fully, offering the best possible end-of-life care and support to the family in bereavement.
Nick Houghton, JMG Group CEO, says: “We were delighted to be able to donate to Martin House Children’s Hospice Christmas 2023 appeal at the end of last year. Meeting the team and hearing more about the valuable work they do really inspired us to go the extra mile and nominate them as our Charity of the Year.
“Throughout 2024, JMG Group staff will be supporting Martin House in a number of ways, including fundraising and volunteering opportunities. We’re looking forward to working with such a fantastic charity and doing our bit to support the incredible work it does to help families across Yorkshire.”
Charlotte Harper, partnerships development manager for Martin House, says: “The hospice requires £10 million each year to run, which is why the efforts of supporters such as JMG Group are so important. Their work will enable us to care for and support around 425 children and around 120 bereaved families annually, allowing them the opportunity to feel supported in the time they have together.”
